Alex Foillard

Alex Foillard represents a new generation of Beaujolais winegrowers. The son of renowned Morgon producers Jean and Agnès Foillard, he studied agriculture, viticulture, and enology before gaining experience in Burgundy, Australia, and Japan. After returning to Beaujolais, he joined the family domaine and purchased his own vineyards in 2016 at the age of 24.

Foillard farms approximately one hectare each in Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly, extending the family’s work beyond its traditional base in Morgon. His Gamay vines are cultivated according to organic principles, while whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and minimal sulfur preserve freshness and vineyard character. The resulting wines share the Foillard family’s signature silky texture while revealing the distinct granite and volcanic soils of these two southern Beaujolais crus.
