Charles Heidsieck “Champagne Charlie” was a 19th century Champagne travelling merchant who was credited for making the sparkling beverage popular in the emerging United States and abroad. After conceiving his champagne house in Reims in 1851, his charisma, eloquence and entrepreneurship won over the palates of New York, the south, Louisiana and beyond. Today, the world-renowned Champagne house makes wines with the intent of elegance, balance, and a sense of captivation through complexity. They set themselves apart with their reserve wines (Brut and Rosé), which utilize wines that are about 10 years of age, which are blended with younger wines to make a distinctive and complex bubbly. They also produce a Vintage Brut, Vintage Rosé and the cuvée Blanc des Millenaires.
