Located on the right bank of the Gironde River in Bordeaux, Pomerol’s esteemed Château Clinet is known for its outstanding Merlot-based Bordeaux blends. Vineyard Manager Jean-Michel Aracaute has been operating the estate’s land since the 1980s and is responsible for the producer’s growth. In 1998, Michel Rolland joined the team as a consulting winemaker after the Laborde family purchased the chateau and chose to introduce more modern winemaking techniques to ensure long-term aging for the grand vin. Sustainability and organic farming also play a key role in Clinet’s success, so much that the 1989 and 2009 vintages both received perfect 100-point scores from acclaimed wine critic, Robert Parker. The Laborde family influence has greatly increased the portfolio range by adding an approachable list of AOC Bordeaux classified red and white wines for more widespread consumption.
