Aleanna

Bodega Aleanna was created in 2009 by historian Adrianna Catena and winemaker Alejandro Vigil. The idea emerged during a walk through London following the ceremony at which Adrianna’s father, Nicolás Catena, received Decanter’s Man of the Year award. Their shared interest in history, literature, and traditional winemaking became the foundation for El Enemigo, meaning “the enemy.”

Aleanna works with high-altitude vineyards across Mendoza, including Gualtallary, El Cepillo, Chacayes, and Agrelo. Cabernet Franc anchors the acclaimed Gran Enemigo single-vineyard collection, revealing the distinct limestone, stone, and clay soils of each site. The broader portfolio includes Malbec, Bonarda, Chardonnay, Semillón, and Chenin Blanc, produced with methods such as concrete fermentation, large oak foudres, indigenous yeasts, and extended aging.
