In 1984 at the young age of 20, Markus Molitor took over his father’s winery with a vision to produce Mosel Rieslings under the name “Molitor”. His main objective was to produce quality wines that followed the tradition of eight generations and made the region world-famous. The estate cultivates in 15 different sites in the Mosel and Saar, including plots in the villages of Wehlen, Zeltingen-Rachtig, and Bernkastel. Markus Molitor uses color-coded packaging according to the style of the wine. White capsules symbolize dry wines, while off-dry wines have a gray-green capsule, and naturally sweet wines have a gold capsule.
