Maison Jean-Luc & Paul Aegerter was established in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1988, when Jean-Luc Aegerter acquired the historic Maison Pierre Gruber. His son, Paul, later joined the family business, bringing a modern perspective while continuing the maison's commitment to the vineyards and traditions of Burgundy.

Aegerter operates as both a wine producer and négociant, crafting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from appellations throughout the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Chablis, and greater Burgundy. Its extensive portfolio ranges from regional and village wines to Premier Cru and Grand Cru bottlings, including selections from Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Meursault, and other celebrated Burgundy terroirs.
