Crocus

Crocus was founded in 2011 through a partnership between American winemaker and Malbec specialist Paul Hobbs and fourth-generation Cahors vintner Bertrand-Gabriel Vigouroux. Their shared goal was to create a contemporary expression of Malbec in its historic birthplace while preserving the distinctive character of Cahors.

The wines draw from three principal terroirs shaped by the Lot River: the limestone plateau and the valley’s third and fourth terraces. The portfolio progresses from the vibrant, accessible L’Atelier to the concentrated Le Calcifère and the limited La Roche Mère, produced from select plateau and terrace sites. Each wine combines Cahors’ structure and mineral character with polished fruit and refinement.
